HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT: Community Involvement

Attorney Tom Reuland embodies public service with each case, and with his work outside the office.

Decades of Public Service

Public service is a fundamental value of attorney Tom Reuland. It's reflected in his decades of experience working for and supporting various nonprofit organizations.

Dating back to his time in college, Tom Reuland earned multiple grants and awards to fund work with legal nonprofit organizations. For example, Yale Law School awarded Mr. Reuland a Liman Undergraduate Public Interest Fellowship that funded work providing legal services and advice to those marginalized by age, poverty and disability.

One of Tom Reuland's first jobs after college was working for the Childrens' Law Center, a legal advocacy nonprofit in New York City. There, he supported attorneys, social workers, and appellate advocates who helped protect children from neglect and domestic abuse.

In law school, Mr. Reuland's dedication to public service continued. He earned a work-study position in a legal clinic under a civil rights professor, where Mr. Reuland focused on laws, policy and litigation impacting people with disabilities. Upon graduation, he received the Boyd Service Award in recognition of his public interest accomplishments throughout law school.

After law school, Mr. Reuland has continued his work with various nonprofits and legal advocacy organizations. He earned an Outstanding Member Award for his work on the Young Professionals Board at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago. Mr. Reuland served as Chair of the Professionals' Counsel at the Sargent Center on Poverty Law and later earned a position on the Governing Board. In these positions, he has utilized legal advocacy to promote and protect the rights and interests of people who live in poverty or are otherwise disadvantaged.

Reuland Law, LLC is deeply rooted in public service, and Tom Reuland's dedication to helping those in need has been a decades-long pursuit.
